Amazon "plogs"

Amazon.com has a new feature called a "plog" that suggests things to you based on stuff you've ordered or rated, all in a format that's identical to a blog. It's still in beta, though, as evidenced by this little nugget of joy it gave me: Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines (Widescreen Edition) was released today; We thought you'd be interested because you rated Finding Nemo. Um, okay.

Going to see the "Legend" on Monday

Hey folks. Karen, Josh and I have agreed to go see Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy on Monday, August 2 in the evening. If anyone would like to join us, let me know! We don't have a set time decided on yet, but that will undoubtedly come soon.

Ready to Watch a Movie

New Blog Things

Hey gang,

I decided to update the blog. So what's new? Obviously beauty, but besides that? Well as you can see on the right, a list of recent posts. And a list of contributors, but I think I may pull that. Also I used the Blogger commenting system, instead of the YACCS one I was using. So old comments are gone, but feel free to recreate them, or hell just create new ones.

Can I say hell on the blog?

Also, I changed the meeting date for the next flick to Karen's birthday weekend at the campground. If people can't see the movie by then, we can change it, but just figured we could give it a shot. I know Josh would be happy if we could get this damn Anchorman out of the way and go back to watching serious films (like Hellboy and Bubba Hotep).

Also, if anyone wants Admin privledges to the blog let me know. Because while movie club is not quite a democracy, I am not quite a dictator. Maybe it's more like an oligarchy. Who can movie club rule over?

Ok then.

Have at it.

As a follow-up to one of last nights topics, SAVED! was the first major writing/directing non-short effort of Brian Dannelly.

ELECTION was written and directed by Alexander Payne, who adapted it form a Tom Perrotta novel.
