This month's pick is no longer showing at the Seven Gables; it's at the Metro...drinking a gigantic soda.
MARIA FULL OF GRACE!
Winner of the Dramatic Audience Award at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and two major awards at the Berlin Film Festival, Maria Full of Grace is one young woman's journey from a small Colombian town to the streets of New York. A bright, spirited 17-year old, Maria Alvarez (Catalina Sandino Moreno) lives with three generations of her family in a cramped house in rural Colombia and works stripping thorns from flowers in a rose plantation. The offer of a lucrative job involving travel - in fact, be coming a drug "mule" - changes the course of her life. Far from the uneventful trip she was promised, Maria is transported into the risky and ruthless world of international drug trafficking.

Hey there club,
Well only Ann Marie, Josh, Jon and I made it but we had delicious Vegan-ness. You also missed the most inspiring new movie announcement movie club has seen so far. But I'll let Jon tell you about that one.
See you all soon!
Hey Gang,
Some of us are planning on heading out to Rialto Beach this weekend. Let me know if you'd like to join us. Below is an email I sent out to those who are going. Read it! If you're interested, let me know.
Hey y’all,
Yay, this weekend is Rialto Beach! Hope everyone is getting excited and prepared for our journey. I wanted to give everyone a bit of information before we head on out there. Looks like low tides for the day are at 9:45am and 10:30pm. My *guess* is that the route through the hole in the wall will be impassable from 2pm through 6pm and 2am (on Saturday) through 6am. Here is a link to the tide tables.

Campsite information:
It’s a little more than a mile hike out to the place where we usually camp so take that into consideration when you’re packing. Usually a small fresh water spring runs close by our campsite, but last time we were there it was dry. I plan on bringing water for a day (just in case) and then deal with the water situation on Saturday. There are Muscles you can collect for food though I’d stick with the dehydrated stuff…
Driving Situation: Looks like everyone will be leaving Friday. I may be leaving early in the morning, but maybe not. Most folks will be leaving Friday afternoon. Let me know what your driving situation (or needing a ride situation) is like and I’ll try to hook everyone up. There are essentially two routes to Rialto Beach. Route 1 goes through Edmonds/Kingston Ferry http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedules/current/index.cfm?route=ed-king to highway 104 to highway 101. Route 2 is the drive on I-5 to Olympia then to Highway 101. We’ve found that it pretty much takes the same amount of time either way. You either wait in traffic or the Ferry Line. Take your pick.
Esperanza’s friend produced this amazing Pirate’s Map that guided us on our first trip and I hope to scan a copy of it and email it out to the first timers. Until then, you can browse the below links I gathered through a simple yahoo search.
Photos and Story: http://www.geocities.com/harald_nancy/rialto.htm you can barely see the Hole in the Wall in the top photo (to the right of the giant rock in front). There is a bigger picture of the ‘hole’ further down.

Oh and feel free to invite anyone you want. They are welcomed as long as they bring booze.
Hey Kids,
My goal for Saturday is to clean my patios and finally move that big glass tabletop. I won't procrastinate if I know y'all are coming over for a BBQ.
I still have a ton of beer and mike's left, as well as Jon's booze from the last Shakti Cove trip. I'll provide gardenburgers and tofu dogs with all the fixin's, you bring meat if you want it.
See you Saturday at 6!
Research shows Matt is sexier than Paul. We all suspected it, we now have proof beyond what our eyes tell us.
Here is one of Josh. What do you think he is saying to himself right now?
Perhaps it's: "Why don't I have a video camera so I can capture these lushes for use in my next project."
So Karen turned 30 and in celebration the movie club sat on a log by a river. The many activities included new nicknames, confessions, some musical stylings, the spotting of a nudist family from Canada, and happy dogs.
Here is Jeff and Emma posing for their album cover.
We're still kicking around titles. Suggestions? Also, see Jon in the background? Jon, can you learn to play the drums? We need a drummer.
Ok, since Movie Club didn't happen during the debauchery that was Karen's 30th, we'll reschedule.
How about Tuesday, August 17 @ 7?
