So y'all are invited to watch movies in the home theater this Saturday. I'll make something easy for dinner and if the weather is good we can try out the new firepit.
Let me know if you can make it, and feel free to bring folks with you. Any suggestions for movies? From Netflix, I have:
Talk to Her
Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
Yes, that's right-- Dirty Dancing. You got a problem with that?
I didn't even know this genre existed
But here it is: the "'male weepies' ".
Last day for "Uncovered"
Hey kids-- tomorrow is the last day that the Harvard Exit will be showing "Uncovered: The Truth About the War In Iraq." Anybody seen it yet? Anyone want to go to the 7:15 show Thursday?
Matthew, that will only give us like an hour to get your fucking shit together. Maybe we should plan some time for over the weekend, too?
I've discovered a new section in my local video store. It's the War section. That's right, all war all the time. So during this time of chaos and tragedy in Iraq, it seems appropriate to watch some war flicks. Last week I watched Three Kings, which I caught in the theatre when it was out, but seems to be really appropriate right now. I also rented The Thin Red Line, but haven't watched it yet.
So my question to you movie clubbers, do you have a recommendation for a war flick?
I know it's late notice AND it's a school night. . . but I'm going to see "We Don't Live Here Anymore" tonight at the Metro at 9:20. If anybody wants to get a drink and then go to the film with me, let me know!
Fancy Flat Food?

The crepes are larger than the plates underneath them, a serene brown (due, in part, to the use of buckwheat flour), crispy at the edges. This is perfect food--whether wrapped around smoked salmon, sautéed mushrooms, or caramelized apples--both ephemeral and hearty at the same time.
